A few years ago, Ada moved from Colombia to the United States. She loved her new country, but she also missed home. The coffee, the mountains, and the kumis. Rich and creamy, she couldn't find her beloved kumis anywhere.
So she started making it at home using her special family recipe. It was a hit! Friends started asking for it. Then friends of friends started asking for it. Pretty soon, she realized it was time to share Colombian-style kumis with the world.
So in the summer of 2017, Ada and Evan leased a creamery at the beautiful Heyday Farms on Bainbridge Island, and Mochila was born!
